Wife Tells Husband She’s Pregnant at His Funeral 25 Weeks Later, Her Doctor Breaks Unbearable News
This is Courtney Hill. In 2011 she met her Husband Brian in the middle of a snowstorm. Their whirlwind romance was destined for great things as the couple got married and had a daughter named Reagan.
The happy couple decided to have another child to complete their family. Sadly, this is when tragedy stuck.
Her husband who was a retired Navy Veteran, and had even served in Afghanistan, Iraq and Kuwait met with a tragic truck accident in February 2016. Unknown to their own future the couple took a pregnancy test the day of the accident.
The test returned negative. It wasn't until she felt sick a few days later and took another test that she realized she was in fact pregnant. At the funeral, she took a moment to tell him that she was pregnant.
A month later, Courtney began to experience pain. She had no idea what was happening and feared that it was possible she had had a miscarriage. She prepared for the worst and made her way to the hospital.
At the hospital she was shocked to hear that she was not just having one child but triplets! She was glad to know that she would now have three smiles that would remind her of Brian. But there was still more bad news for Courtney.
25 Weeks into her pregnancy Courtney was struck by tragedy once again. The doctors informed her that one of her triplets had passed away. Courtney had already picked out names for the triplets.
She was shocked, confused, and above all devastated.
When asked about the whole thing Courtney had this to say, “I lost Brady but I was given two newborn babies who are healthy. Most triplets have weeks in intensive care. Not in my case, everybody went home the next day. We have suffered, but we also have been blessed with little miracles.”
Courtney’s surviving babies Harper and Miles, were born on September 21. Courtney has a hard time explaining to strangers that they are not twins.“I don’t expect people to know my story, that I had three heartbeats for 26 weeks, but it hurts when I hear ‘twins’ and I know in my heart that they are triplets.”
At the end of the day we are all glad that Courtney and her 'triplets' survived and lived to see another day. It is truly nothing short of a miracle.
