The house that we are talking about has taken the world of Internet by storm. A Parisian apartment, it was abandoned at the outbreak of World War II and left untouched and unrented for 70 years and came to notice in 2010. Well! It's images have gone viral and people are going amazed.

The owner of this Parisian apartment was known to be named as Mrs De Florian, who is known to have fled to the south of France before the breaking of World War II. She had never returned and never was this house rented. The house came into light in 2010, three years after Mrs Florian's death at the age of 91.

Found near a church in the French capital's 9th arrondissement, between Pigalle red light district and Opera, the apartment was discovered by Olivier Choppin-Janvry. With the discovery started the task of drawing inventory of her possessions. According to the experts, “stumbling in to the castle of Sleeping Beauty” by one expert, as a room full of artworks and beautiful furniture was discovered behind its long locked front door.

The house is full of artworks and something that impressed the experts the most was the tableau of a woman in a pink muslin evening dress, which turned out to be a work by the 19th Century Italian artist Giovanni Boldini. Well! It is known that the beautiful woman in the portrait was Mrs De Florian’s grandmother Marthe, who had been a renowned actress, socialite and Boldini’s muse. A love letter by accompanied Boldini identified the work. The letter was discovered in the artist's book by his widow which said the work was of 1898.

The beautiful apartment was put up for sale at £253,000 and some astonishing ten bidders pushed its final sale price up to almost £1.8 million – no doubt partially  inspired by the astonishing story behind it.
